A figure-hugging bustier in gold stretch satin, closed by a zip at the back, serves as a precious base for this imaginative-looking piece, which brings the film Burlesque to mind.

The garment offers a playful mix of different materials: the bright stripes of some fabric stolen from a piece of furniture combined with a delicate sky-blue silk tulle; French silver sequin appliques dating to around 1940 and raw cotton trimmings interrupted by a bright red “herringbone” design mix together, while irregularly draped cotton tulle conjures a veil of “mystery” and lightness.

Finally, shoulder straps made using  a bobbin lace in raw cotton trimmings soften the garment’s romantic air. They support a panel of the tulle across the wearer’s chest, thus framing and defining the whole piece.
